Whether it’s dressing celebrity clients such as Shania Twain and The Jonas Brothers, dressing mannequins for the window display at life of manek, dressing up for the camera as a fashion consultant for City TV, Slice and Global television, or dressing her 3 year old toddler – owner Nicole Manek brings her non-stop energy and relentless style to everything she does.
After studying art history and design in Toronto and Milan, Nicole began working as a stylist, costume designer and consultant on various film and television productions, including the Genie nominated art-house film “Sugar,” and CTV’s hit show “The Listener.” Nicole’s vivacious personality behind the scenes got noticed, and she soon found herself in demand as an on camera style expert for network TV, eventually earning a co-hosting role on the Slice program “Make Me over, Make Me Under.” Since teaming up with Judy Inc, Nicole has put her talents to work for major clients such as Smirnoff and Proctor & Gamble.
Nicole’s style ethos is a calculated practice that balances modern innovation with timeless vintage élan. She loves working in her boutique, where everyday clients continuously remind her of the secret to amazing personal style – that elusive combination of function and flair, practicality and pizzazz. Her desire to make fashion accessible but still glamorous, is what keeps her relevant and in demand as a stylist, designer, blogger, and trend-setter.
