Nicole Manek is a three-time Canadian Screen Award nominated and CAFTCAD award winning designer. She has been conjuring unique worlds through her signature combination of modern and vintage for over two decades years in film and television.

As a Costume Designer, Nicole is best known for her herculean effort designing three seasons (850 characters per season) of the award-winning hit sketch comedy series Baroness von Sketch Show (CBC/IFC), she continued her mastery of sketch by working with comedy legend Bruce McCulloch, designing for his series Tallboyz (CBC).

She fulfilled her wildest period costume dreams by designing the 70s/80s-set series New Eden (Crave) and reimagined the detective aesthetic for a three season run on the buddy cop comedy Pretty Hard Cases (CBC/NBCU). This year she has designed Davey & Jonesie’s Locker (Amazon Hulu) a cool and trippy teen comedy of inter-dimensional proportions and the highly anticipated Law & Order Toronto (City TV).

As a stylist her work includes Mary Berg for Mary’s Kitchen Crush and Mary Makes it Easy (CTV), the hosts of The Great Canadian Baking Show (CBC), red carpet events and a roster private clients. Her brand clients include Smirnoff, Bell Media, Value Village and CIBC.

Nicole has recently become an online content creator and writer with YouTube show Chachi and Gloria, a puppet show for burnt out parents. She has a YA book set for publication in 2024 about grief, growing up and magical fishes. She lives in Little Italy with her son Leon, their schnoodle Pepper and the sleep fairies.
